On December 7, 7 of RIAJ’s member record companies, Victor Entertainment Inc.,
Universal Music K.K., Toshiba-EMI Limited., Warner Music Japan Inc., AVEX Inc., Sony Music Records Inc. and
Defstar Records Inc., sent out letters to 5 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to seek disclosure of 18 users’ personal information, who have uploaded (made transmittable) music files illegally on the Internet
using file-sharing software, in the same manner as the first action released on November 16.
In addition to the first wave in November, the information disclosure claims about 30 users have been sent
to 10 ISPs until now.
